I believe that you get out of life what you put into it and that the more experiences you have and the more knowledge you gain benefits you for eternity.

1 Nephi 8-10

A Very Thought Provoking Dream

This week we read about a dream that Lehi had known as the dream of the Tree of Life. My wife and I read 1 Nephi 8 and our kids drew what they imagined Lehi had seen. From the image above it is evident that everyone imagined it a “bit” differently. Even I saw it differently this time as I had in the past. Continue reading

Two Different Perspectives

This week we learned that the Lord gave Lehi’s sons the task to go back to Jerusalem and retrieve the brass planes from king Laban for the intent of preserving their language and retain the commandments that the Lord gave Moses. This was critical for the following to happen to Lehi’s family,

The class was called “Release Time.” I thought about the title and then I realized that I had reached the age where I was able to go to the little church-like building  that was next to my school. I was a new Seminary student.

Open My Mouth

I grew up right in the heart of “Happy Valley” (Utah’s Utah County) and one of my favorite events to attend were missionary farewells of young men and women who were about to enter the Missionary Training Center (MTC) in answer to a prophet’s call to serve the Lord. I loved the pagentry of the occasion where family and friend and Stake leaders were all in attendance to see what the soon-to-be missionary has to say.
